Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has always been a turning point for the tech industry, and 2023 doesn't seem to be an exception.

Apple VR/AR Headset: the long-awaited mixed reality
When Apple has undertaken new product categories in the past, such as with the iPhone and Apple Watch, it introduced these devices several months before their release date.
Previewing Apple's VR/AR headset at WWDC would give Apple an opportunity to familiarize app creators with the product, given that apps are likely to be a fundamental part of the headset experience.
Apple's headset is expected to focus on mixed reality, with an M2 chip powering the device. It would be controlled by tracking the eyes and gestures, with some rumors that suggest the possibility of typing in mid-air.
The headset will presumably be called Apple Reality Pro, and the 'Pro' part of that name will be very evident in the assumed price of the headset - it is said that it could cost up to 3,000 dollars.
Based on rumors, here is the list of features of Apple's new Headest AR/VR:
- A gem with both augmented reality and virtual reality capabilities, and the ability to switch from one mode to another with a control similar to the Digital Crown. Interesting, isn't it?
- External battery pack for comfortable waist wear.
- A light and comfortable design that will make you feel in the clouds, with an Apple Watch-style strap.
- 4K micro-OLED display.
- Apple silicon chips, the same ones used in Macs. Power at will!
- XRos operating system, with its dedicated App Store, a unique FaceTime experience and the ability to run iPhone and iPad apps. What can I say, it all seems like a dream!
- Gesture based control, without a physical controller. Goodbye joystick!
- A myriad of cameras that can read facial expressions, detect body movements and map the surrounding environment. This is science fiction, guys!
- And to conclude on a high note, authentication by means of an iris scan. Just like in a spy movie!
News from the Mac world: MacBook Air and Mac Pro
As for other hardware announcements at WWDC, Do rumors persist of a 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip or a new Mac Pro. Among the Macs that could be announced, the Mac Pro M2 seems the most appropriate announcement at an event full of developers, even many rumors suggest that Will the new 15-inch MacBook Air be launched at WWDC for real.
Interesting news also concerns the Apple Silicon M3. Although there have been difficulties in production, when they arrive they should guarantee impressive power. This is a key element for understanding the future evolutions of Apple hardware, but for now we don't expect to see them in new Macs or iPads at WWDC 2023.
There's a fascinating source of speculation that comes from Apple itself: three Mac models not yet released have been spotted in the backend of Apple's Find My network. These appear to be desktop Mac models, as they are not compatible with the Find My functionality and are listed along with other confirmed desktop Macs.
