The fear of making a wrong purchase, the choice of the right budget and the adrenaline that drives us to shout to the world “I want the most powerful PC of all” are always the obstacle to overcome for a smart purchase.

Today I will help you decide by answering the question frankly: Is it worth buying a MacBook Air M1 in 2022? 

Let's forget exaggerated specifications and technicalities, for all the details there is my definitive review of the Macbook Air M1.

If you are here today, you know very well what are the potential of MacBook Air thanks to the M1 chip, let's summarize them briefly:

• Infinite battery, it's 12 hours of standard use and a minimum of 6 hours of intense use
• Quietness, being Fanless You can't hear the usual annoying sound of fans at full load
• Dizzying power, the MacBook Air mount an Apple M1 with 8-core CPU and GPU which, combined with system optimization, make it perfect for professional use.
• Unbeatable price, it's very cheap! I even paid for it 850€ on Black Friday but you can easily find it for 900€ online.

In short, it's a bomb, but let's focus for a moment on the last two points: power and price.

We can say it with certainty, There is no product on the market that equals quality/price the MacBook Air M1.

It's solid, powerful, reliable and it's sold at a really good price.

For the first time in the history of MacBooks, the market value of the product is equal to or greater than the monetary value.

The MacBook Air M1 It is, in my opinion, more powerful and reliable, in total, than MacBook Pro 16" 2019 with an i7 processor that Apple sold for 2500€.

In fact, from professional, I decided to sell my Pro model just mentioned to buy, at the end of 2021, a MacBook Air M1.

Madness? Nope. It was the best choice I could have made and I would never go back.

Yes, it's worth it

Objectively, it is impossible to think of not buying the MacBook Air M1 in 2022 because, as mentioned before, it is the laptop with the best quality/price ratio on the market.

And, given the high performance and infinite battery life, it is also highly recommended in 2022 for:

• Daily use, web browsing, Netflix and documents
• Photo/Video Editing, on Final Cut the mounting 4K video Fly with the Apple M1
• Graphics and web design, with Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD rock
• Web development, VS Code, Pycharm and Docker 3 are 100% supported on Macbooks with M1 chips
• Study and University, With a battery that lasts more than 8 hours, the MacBook Air M1 is perfect for studying and taking notes Without the anxiety of 'oh my God you'll download the PC'

In addition, a small detail about the new MacBook Air M2: 256 GB SSDs mounted on basic models are 50% slower than SSDs of MacBook Air M1 therefore, despite being older, it is still unbeatable in terms of quality/price.

There is only A reason In order not to buy the MacBook Air M1 in 2022.

In July 2022, Apple presented the brand new, and wonderful in my opinion, MacBook Air M2 which comes with a completely revolutionized design and obviously features the new generation of Apple Silicon M2, which completely improves the already super M1.

Here the choice is personal, it depends on the budget and taste.

If you don't have a Macbook and are considering buying an Air model:

• If you are low on budget, the MacBook Air M1 About 900€ it's the best purchase you could make
• If you have a budget, I would evaluate the new MacBook Air M2 at 1529€ (on Amazon it is already discounted on 1376€) for a matter of the longevity of the updates and of which I wrote a nice review.

If you already have a Macbook and don't know what to do:

• If you have a MacBook Air M1 But the design of the new one drives you crazy, take the model with M2 and you won't regret it
• If you have an old MacBook with an Intel processor, what I said before applies and therefore it depends on the budget

In my opinion, yes, absolutely.

In the end, always waiting for the new model doesn't make sense, especially if you can't wait.

Personal advice? If you find it for 900€, buy this MacBook Air immediately.
